On January 12th I arrived at the John Wayne airport 30 minutes before my flight was scheduled to take off. With anxiety building up inside me, for fear I would miss my flight, I walked over to the line to check-in my bag. There was a senior couple in front of me in line and when I say senior I mean the most senior of all seniors, lol. I rifled through my bag to look for a pen so I could write my name and phone number on one of those conveniently provided airline tags for my luggage. The line was moving slowly and once all of my affairs were in order I had more time to people watch(a favorite past time).
I looked closely at grandma and grandpa in front of me. I wondered where they might be going ... what their story might be. I occasionally glanced at the floor or at the other people in line, but something about these two caught my eye. Grandpa leaned towards grandma and I can only suspect he asked her for a kiss because he had a serious moe kolo look on his face. haha. Grandma shook her head no without hesitation and leaned in the opposite direction. Finally, after several attempts grandpa finally got some sugar on his cheek, bwhahaha. I was intrigued by such a woman who would refuse to kiss her husband/boyfriend/sugar daddy on the lips over and over and then just a little peck on the cheek for the old guy. Then grandpa said something that made me crack a smile, "That's how I know you're a lady."
With my bag checked in I rushed over to the line leading to security. I threw my belongings into the plastic tray and walked through without incident. As I rushed to put my shoes back on I glanced up at the clock to see that it was 9:58am. My flight was scheduled to depart at 10:05am. I rushed down to the end of the terminal to my gate. I arrived just as my group was boarding A31-A60 ... I cut through where I thought A40 was and let out a sigh of relief. I made it! I was on my way to Sacramento and then off to Seattle :)
I arrived in Seattle 15 minutes later than scheduled. I had to wait for my bags and soon after I found Oli waiting for me outside by the curb. We braved the 5fwy south towards Tacoma and after several encounters with horrible Washington drivers we made it to a familiar place, the shopping center where the WinCo is! Oli and I went to Applebees because we were both starving. Our waitress sucked! We waited 20 minutes for her to take our order and then another 30 minutes to get our food. After some good comfort food we waited and waited and waited for the check. Almost 20 minutes later still nothing. Finally we asked the hostess to go find our waitress to give us the check. *rolls eyes* We arrived at the most awesome apartment everrr ... Uila, Oli and Egesi's house and I was glad to be home. haha. I quickly changed and made myself at home.
